What is BLK?
BLK Capital Management, Corp is a 100% black-owned and student-run nonprofit that focuses on educating our members by exposing them to the field of active investment management. We accomplish this through real-time investing across the globe, delivering absolute returns and seeking to outperform industry standards. We hope to create life-long relationships between our members through education and mentorship.
How it all started
BLK Capital Management, Corp. was founded in 2017 by three Black members of Harvard and Princeton University who wanted to change the culture of the finance industry. As a part of finance organizations on their respective campuses, the founding members noticed that these organizations were largely missing Black representation. As a result, they decided to create their own program that would promote the financial education of Black students and allow top students at colleges across the nation to have the opportunity to learn about investing and careers in the financial services industry.
What we aim to do
As an organization, we strive to recruit top talent from schools across the world and prepare them for a career in the financial services industry through mentorship, our extensive education program, and active management opportunities through our long/short equity portfolio. In addition to cultivating our membership academically and professionally, we promote community service through initiatives at each participating school to ensure that our members remain socially conscious.
What makes us special
We actively recruit and select intelligent and motivated students from all around the world to craft a robust community of elite investors. As a prerequisite for selection, each member must complete a three-round, case-study interview process that highlights their passion for knowledge and ability to lead. Upon induction into the organization, each student participates in a rigorous education program that covers accounting, security selection, and several valuation techniques. After the successful completion of our education program, analysts are invited to take part of our hedge fund, actively investing and honing their financial acumen.
Our Founders
ANGEL ONUOHA
Angel Onuoha is an alumnus of Harvard College where he studied economics and computer science. Mr. Onuoha has spent summers in private equity and investment banking at The Blackstone Group and Goldman Sachs.

DREW TUCKER
Drew Tucker is an alumnus of Harvard College, where he studied Economics with a secondary in African-American Studies. He is originally from Wheatley Heights, Long Island. In his free time, Drew enjoys lifting weights and expanding the depth and variety of his music library.
MENELIK GRAHAM
Menelik Graham is an alumnus of Princeton University, where he studied international affairs with a minor in entrepreneurship. While born in Portmore, Jamaica, he spent his formative years growing up in South and Central Florida.
