Uatshila (Lanon) Munenyiwa

At 16, Lanon built a sanitation system in South Africa that was featured on national television. It won five international competitions, including Rise for the World. She's passionate about solving problems faced by marginalized communities, particularly in sustainable technology and energy. When I read her application, I was struck by how early she started building real things for real people, born out of the problems in her own community.
