
BLK Scholars Program
BLK Scholars is a global program designed for students in their last two years of secondary schools interested in exploring finance as a career. Participants will gain exposure to the finance industry while developing essential communication and presentation skills. This is a semester long program that allows students to gain a head start for a future career in finance.
What You Will Learn
Students will learn to interpret financial news, understand key vocabulary, and explore popular finance roles along with their responsibilities. The program focuses on professional development, including networking strategies, LinkedIn profile creation, resume writing, and interview preparation. Additionally, students will gain financial literacy skills, covering topics such as credit cards, savings accounts, and personal finance management.
This program introduces investing concepts, and students will complete a capstone project—a stock pitch and group presentation to develop analytical and communication skills.
Who Should Apply

Students in their last two years of secondary school (Year 12/13 or high school juniors and seniors) with a strong academic record.

BLK and College Navigation: Overview of BLK Capital Managment and member success.

Foundations of finance: Explore popular roles in finance and their responsibilities. Primary and secondary markets. Understand the Buy side vs the Sell side.

How to Read the News: How to interpret financial news and understand general vocabulary. Understanding the dynamic between inflation and interest rates.

Professional Development: LinkedIn profile creation, resume writing, and interview preparation

Financial Literacy: Basics of budgeting, credit cards, and personal financial management.

Investing Basics: Understanding the dynamic between risk vs reward. Introduction to common asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate, commodities, and alternatives investments).

Networking: Learn effective strategies for initiating and conducting coffee chats and professional outreach.

Capstone Project: Stock pitch - company overview, industry & market overview, investment thesis, catalysts, valuation, and risks​
